- Whether or not a Turkish proficiency certificate is required from students enrolled in programmes whose medium of instruction is not Turkish and the submission period of the document is determined by the Unit Board Decision.
- Students enrolled in programmes whose medium of instruction is Turkish and who are subject to compulsory foreign language preparatory class may submit the Turkish Proficiency Certificate until the end of the preparatory class. Compulsory foreign language proficiency and placement exam and preparatory class education are carried out according to Ondokuz Mayıs University Foreign Language Education and Training Regulation.
- Students who are entitled to enrolment must sign the "Student Declaration, Acceptance and Financial Sufficiency Undertaking" section of the International Student Final Registration, Approval, Commitment and Document Delivery Form prepared by our University, stating that their financial means are sufficient to continue their higher education in our country.
- In determining the Turkish proficiency level of the students, certificates from OMU-TÜRKÇE will be accepted. In addition, the validity evaluation of Turkish proficiency certificates obtained from other institutions and organisations is carried out by OMU-TÜRKÇE and accepted in case of a decision of conformity.
- Candidates who do not have a Turkish proficiency certificate or whose Turkish level is lower than C1 level are considered to be on leave for one year to improve their Turkish level. At the end of this period or within this period, students who obtain a C1 certificate from OMU-TÜRKÇE or who obtain and submit a Turkish proficiency certificate whose equivalence is accepted, start their education in the following semester. Those who cannot bring a certificate are given an additional 1 year. The Turkish proficiency certificate approved by OMU-TÜRKÇE must be submitted at the end of 2 (two) academic years at the latest, starting from the academic year in which the student enrolled. The deadline for submission of the document is the end of the courses in the academic calendar determined each year. Students who do not submit the document within the specified period are deregistered by the decision of the board of directors of the unit they are a student of without any notification to them. Students who do not have a C1 certificate are accepted as active students studying at OMU-TÜRKÇE if they bring a document showing that they have registered at Turkish language course centres approved by the Ministry of National Education or Turkish learning centres of universities. Students who are considered to be on leave for one year to improve their Turkish language level and who take an extension period cannot receive a student certificate and cannot enrol in courses.
- Students are required to submit their high school diploma equivalency certificate until one month before the beginning of the spring semester in the academic calendar of the academic year in which they are enrolled. Students who do not submit the high school diploma equivalency certificate are considered to be on leave within the specified period, cannot register for courses and cannot receive a student certificate. However, students who have started the application process for the equivalence certificate and documented this situation are allowed to register for courses and receive a student certificate until the equivalence procedures are finalised. The registrations of the students who do not submit the documents within the specified period are deleted by the decision of the board of directors of the unit they are a student of without any notification to them.
- Students who have made their final registration with a provisional graduation certificate must submit their high school diploma until one month before the beginning of the spring semester in the academic calendar of the academic year in which they are enrolled.
