• Tuition fees paid by students who have completed pre-registration or final registration at the university are non-refundable.
• International students may change the university they are registered at only once within the same academic year. Applicants should consider this before applying. Candidates found to have changed universities more than once within the same academic year will have their registration canceled even if their registration process is complete. Paid tuition fees will not be refunded.
• Students found to be registered in the same program level at another university in Turkey via the YÖKSİS system checks will not be registered.
• Candidates must have legal residency status in Turkey and prove this with documents such as a passport, residence permit, etc., to complete final registration. Candidates without legal residency or those violating their legal stay period will not be registered or will have their registration canceled if already completed. No tuition refunds will be given in such cases.
• Being placed in a program by providing misleading or incomplete information without meeting application requirements, or having completed pre-registration or final registration, does not guarantee continuation of student status. Students found to have submitted incomplete, incorrect, or misleading information or documents will not have their pre-registration or final registration processed; if completed, their enrollment will be terminated by the university.
• Communication with candidates regarding application, preference, placement, pre-registration, final registration, and post-registration processes will be conducted via the university’s official email addresses and the email addresses provided by the candidates during application. Candidates must regularly check their email accounts for university messages. The email address provided must belong to the candidate, be up-to-date, and accurate. Each candidate should use only one email address and should not conduct correspondence on behalf of other candidates.
• Students granted the right to register must sign the "Student Declaration, Acceptance and Financial Sufficiency Commitment" section included in the International Student Registration, Commitment, and Document Submission Form prepared by the university, which confirms that their financial means are sufficient to continue higher education in Turkey.
• Students who register with a Provisional Graduation Certificate must submit the original high school diploma by one month before the start date of the spring semester as indicated in the academic calendar of the registered academic year. Students failing to submit the original diploma within this period will have their registration deleted by the decision of the administrative board of their unit without any notification.
• Students who register with a “Can Graduate” Certificate must submit the original high school diploma by the date set by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). Failure to submit the original diploma by the deadline will result in the deletion of registration by the administrative board of their unit without notification.
• Turkish proficiency levels of students will be determined based on certificates issued by OMÜTÜRKÇE. The validity of Turkish proficiency certificates from other institutions will be assessed by OMÜTÜRKÇE. The decision will be indicated on the certificate and communicated to the Student Affairs Department. Turkish preparatory education, exams, proficiency levels, and other matters are governed by OMÜTÜRKÇE regulations/directives.
• Students under the scope of the Ondokuz Mayıs University International Student Directive for Associate and Bachelor Programs who meet the conditions below will not be required to submit a Turkish proficiency document, and their Turkish proficiency will be considered sufficient to start their programs:
a) Turkish citizens,
b) Dual citizens with one citizenship being Turkish,
c) Those who completed their secondary education at Turkish high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Türkiye,
ç)Those who completed secondary education at Turkish schools abroad affiliated with the Ministry of National Education,
d) Those who completed secondary education via the Ministry of National Education’s open high school programs abroad,
e) Those holding an associate's or bachelor's diploma from universities in Türkiye,
f) Those who are Turkish citizens by birth but have official permission from the Ministry of Interior to renounce Turkish citizenship, or holders of the Blue Card,
g) International students admitted to associate or bachelor programs where the medium of instruction is entirely a foreign language.
• Students without a Turkish proficiency certificate at the C1 level;
a) Are granted a leave of absence for up to 4 semesters starting from the beginning of the academic year they registered to improve their Turkish proficiency. Students who submit a valid Turkish proficiency certificate within or at the end of this period will start their education the following semester.
b) Those who provide proof of enrollment in Turkish language courses approved by the Ministry of National Education or Turkish language learning centers at state universities are accepted as preparatory students outside the university. Students who do not enroll in OMÜTÜRKÇE or other approved institutions are considered inactive and cannot receive student certificates.
c) Students who fail to submit a valid certificate by the end of the 4-semester period (certificate submission deadline is the end of the course date specified annually in the university’s general academic calendar) will have their registration deleted by the administrative board of their unit without notice.
